When it gets filled with stuff it will cause you a clogging.

Dishwasher clogged air gap:

Another reason why the dishwasher is not draining is that the air gap is clogged. It can be located on the top of the sink. What you need to do in order to unclog it, you need to remove the cover. Usually, most of the stuff causing the problem are collected on the top. Remove the dirty stuff carefully so they will not be dropped back inside. This will free the air gap, which is necessary for the dishwasher’s draining.

Dishwasher draining to sink:

Is the dirty water from your dishwasher backing up in the sink? This is because the drain pipes are clogged. Even if the draining flow is slower than usual, the water from the dishwasher may be backing up in the sink. You need to have a look in the pipes underneath the area where the hose is connected with the drain of the sink.

Dishwasher clogged leaking:

Pressure and vibration from the dishwasher can loosen the connections from the pipes. With this happening, you will notice a leaking. What you need to do is disconnect the area where is leaking, clean it properly and connect them back. Make sure you tighten the connection as much as you can, otherwise the leaking will continue.

When your dishwasher will not finish its cycle it means that something is wrong. It can star and stop halfway through. However, this may be from a small issue to a larger one. Some of the dishwasher’s reasons for not completing the cycle are:

  4. Problem with the heating element.

Dishwasher draining but not filling:

So your dishwasher is not clogged but it can’t be filled with water. That means that something may be wrong with the water supply. Before you take any further actions, open the tap in the kitchen sink to check the water flow. If the water flow is normal, there may be something wrong with the inlet valve.

Dishwasher draining but not washing:

When your dishwasher is not washing the pots properly, there may be a few things wrong with the dishwasher. The most common problems are:

  • Clogged Rinse-aid dispenser.
  • Clogged Spray Arm.
  • Problem with the dishwasher’s heater.

Dishwasher draining constantly:

Is your dishwasher draining not stop? That is an issue that you need to sort out. If you do not you may as well get water from the sink backing up in the dishwasher. So, right after the filter in the bottom of the dishwasher is a plastic pipe called one-way valve. This is connected to the draining hose and stop the water from draining or backing up. Something may be inside of it holding the spring open. You can easily open it by using a screwdriver. Remove whatever is inside of it holding the spring open and place it back as it was.

Dishwasher draining loud:

What can you do to stop your dishwasher from draining loud? Usually, when the dishwasher drains loud means that something is clogging the propeller. A small propeller is located under the one-way valve, after the filter. Once you have cleared the propeller, the loud noise while draining should have been fixed.

Dishwasher draining on floor:

Why is your dishwasher draining on the floor? It means that there is leaking on the hose or the pipes. The leaking is usually from where the hose is connected, so this is the part that needs to be fixed. You need to disconnect the area where is leaking, isolated and connect it back. So unless you wanna be running all the time with the mop, you need to sort it.

Dishwasher draining on counter:

When the water from the dishwasher is draining on the counter in the sink, it means that the air gap is clogged. The steam that is supposed to go out is getting liquefied and is causing a leaking at your sink. What you need to do is clean the air gap. In order to do that, you need to remove its cover and clean the hole from whatever is blocking.

Dishwasher inlet valve clogged:

The inlet valve is located right after where the water supply is connected. It can get dirty and clogged at some point with you having problems with the water supply in your dishwasher. In order to fix this one, you better call a professional. It needs to be well repaired or replaced in order to be safe for you.

Dishwasher knob won’t start:

The dishwasher’s knob is the main thing you use to start the dishwasher. One of the reasons it doesn’t start is that it has no power supply. What you need to do is check if everything is fine with the electric supply for the dishwasher. If everything looks fine, that means that the knob has been broken. This is something that you may not be able to do by yourself.

Dishwasher motor clogged:

When your dishwasher’s motor is clogged you will hear a humming sound. That means that something has passed through the filter and found its way to the motor, clogging it. Once you remove the filter you will see a small hole. This is where the motor is. Make sure you cut off the power supply before you start anything. You need to take whatever is in there out.  It will be not easy to remove from inside, so you better use a tool to help you.

Dishwasher motor won’t start:

However, when the motor refuses to start are a few reasons behind it. This is happening for the dishwasher’s and your safety. The most usual reasons are:

  • The door is not properly closed.
  • Broken thermal fuse.
  • Damaged knob or touchpad.
  • Broken control board.

Dishwasher not draining completely:

Does your dishwasher not drain completely? What you need to keep in mind is that having a bit of water in the bottom of the dishwasher is normal. So, unless you have serious draining problems, this is not something that should be bothering you.

Dishwasher won’t close:

When the dishwasher won’t close that means that the door lock s broken. In the door, between the outer part and the inner part is a special switch that seals the dishwasher’s door. In order to reach for it, you need to separate the two parts of the door. You can do that by using a screwdriver to remove the screws that are located on the inner part. This switch is probably broken and needs replacing.

Dishwasher won’t fill with water:

There can be a case where the dishwasher doesn’t fill with water. This can happen for 2 main reasons.:

  • You have a problem with your water supply. Check the taps at home to see if maybe something is wrong.
  • The inlet valve is broken or clogged and needs cleaning or replacing. It is located in the back of the dishwasher.

Dishwasher won’t get hot:

When the dishwasher doesn’t wanna get hot, that means you have a problem with the heating element. The heating element may have a cable loose or is broken. This may be quite complicated for you to fix, so you better call a professional to open it up and have a look inside of it.

Dishwasher won’t heat dry:

Are your dishes still wet after being washed? The main reason for this happening is that the water in your dishwasher doesn’t heat up properly. The dishes may have been washed because the pots were not that dirty, but they will be still wet. With this happening that means that the heating element in your dishwasher is faulty and need to be fixed.

Dishwasher won’t open:

Always when using the dishwasher, you cannot open it during the washing or shortly after the washing is finished. If it still doesn’t want to open, that means that the special switch inside the door is stuck. You need to disconnect your dishwasher from the power supply in order to open the door. Reconnect with the power supply and check if the problem still exists.

Dishwasher won’t reset:

Sometimes the dishwasher refuses to reset. This is happening when the touchpad may not get the command properly. The best way to reset the dishwasher manually is by cutting off the power supply to it. Disconnect it and wait for a few seconds before you reconnect it.

Dishwasher won’t release soap:

When the dishwasher doesn’t release soap is something you need to have a better look on. Your pots will remain dirty, so using the dishwasher would be pointless. This is a sign that the dispenser is clogged. It may be just clogged from solidified soap and salt or broken and unable to release soap which you need to replace it.

Bosch dishwasher is clogged:

Do you have a Bosch dishwasher which is clogged? There can be many reasons for the Bosch dishwasher not being able to drain properly. The most common reasons are:

  • Clogged filter. The filter is filled up with pieces of food and grease, so they get stuck on the filter clogging it.
  • Clogged air gap. The air gap is very important for the Bosch dishwasher draining. Check the air gap by removing its lid which is placed on the sink.
  • Clogged hose. Having the hose clogged you need to disconnect the hoe from the dishwasher in order to fix it.

LG dishwasher clogged:

When the LG dishwasher is clogged, you will get an error code on the screen that shows OE. It means that the dishwasher doesn’t drain properly and needs to be looked. The most common clogging problems with the LG dishwashers are:

  • The drain pump is broken down or clogged. It is located in the bottom of the dishwasher and be easily removed by lifting it.
  • The draining hose is clogged. You can have a look inside it and you may be able to unclog it. Otherwise, you may have to replace it.

Samsung dishwasher not draining:

Just like with most dishwashers, also the Samsung ones are not draining properly because the hose may be clogged. With the hose clogged, the dishwasher will be not able to drain properly. Another clogging reason may be from the draining pump. It may be dirty and filled with leftovers washed off from the pots. The draining pump has also a special valve that can be broken down and needs to be replaced.

Whirlpool dishwasher clogged:

Do you have a clogged Whirlpool dishwasher? There are some parts that may have been broken down and need or be fixed or replaced. The most common parts are:

  • Draining pump. In order for the draining pump to remove the water, the motor needs to be working properly.
  • Drain impeller. The dishwasher has a special impeller to force the water out of the dishwasher. It is located inside the drain pump. If the impeller is broken you need to replace it.
  • Drain Solenoid Kit. The drain solenoid opens a special valve in order to make the water be drained. However, when the solenoid kit will not work properly, the valve won’t open. This will have a result for the water not being drained.

Whirlpool dishwasher won’t start:

You are trying to turn on the Whirlpool dishwasher and it will not start? That doesn’t always mean that something is wrong with the dishwasher. There may be something that you have missed. The most common reasons for the Whirlpool dishwasher not being able to start are:

  • The dishwasher is locked or on ”sleep” mode. This is for safety especially when you got kids at home. You can lock it whenever you want but in order for the dishwasher to work, you need to unlock it first.
  • The door is not closed properly. Once again for safety reasons the dishwasher won’t start if the door is not properly closed.
  • Lack of Power supply. When you have no electric supply is normal that the dishwasher will be not able to work on its own.

If everything is fine with the above that may be a serious problem with the dishwasher. Since you will be not able to identify what is wrong, you may need to ask for professional help.

Frigidaire dishwasher is clogged:

So, you have a Frigidaire dishwasher and is clogged. The first thing you are looking to clean is the filter. However, Frigidaire dishwashers don’t have filters. Therefore, the main reasons a Frigidaire dishwasher is not draining are:

  • The air gap is clogged. Just like with most of the dishwashers also Frigidaire dishwashers when the air gap is clogged the will have draining issues.
  • The dishwasher’s hose is clogged. This is also a very common clogging issue with most dishwashers.
  • The overfill protector is clogged. The overfill protector is a special device in the left corner inside the dishwasher’s bottom. It should be moving up and down without a problem. However, if the overfill protector is clogged the water will be not able to get drained.

GE dishwasher is clogged:

When your GE dishwasher is clogged the first thing you need to check if you do not have a problem with your drains. If the water is draining normally that means that something is wrong with your dishwasher. The first thing you need to look at is the filter. Is probably very dirty because is not easy to reach. To reach it you need to remove the spray arm from the bottom of the dishwasher. Under the spray arm is a stainless steel cover. You need to remove it and clean it properly as well. Underneath the cover is the filter located which is probably piled up. Once you clean it place back the filter, the cover and the arm. The clogging issue should have been sorted.

GE dishwasher clogged spray arm:

When you have your GE dishwasher’s spray arm clogged the pots will come out dirty. This is because the water will be not coming out as it should. In order to unclog the spray arms, you need to use a metal thin cable to put it through the holes in order to release whatever is inside blocking the water. Before you clean them you need to remove them first. You can remove the bottom one easily by twisting it slightly reverse-clockwise and pulling it up. There can be also screw fitted spray arms on the top of the dishwasher.

GE dishwasher drain hose clogged:

When the GE dishwasher’s filter is fine and the dishwasher is still clogged it means that the problem is with the hose. Before you do anything and you decide that you need to replace the drain hose, you need to make sure that the problem is in the hose. There are cases where the draining problem is in the central pipes. So, if everything looks fine with the draining in the rest sinks, then you may need to unclog the hose. In order to do that, you need to disconnect the hose from its connection to the sink. This is the place where will more likely get clogged. If it looks fine from that side then you need to disconnect from the dishwasher itself. In order to do that, you need to disconnect the hose from the back of the dishwasher. Clean the clogged hose and put it back on the dishwasher.

GE quiet power 3 dishwasher clogged:

GE quiet power 3 dishwasher’s most common problem is right under the sink. You need to check the area where is the connection of the hose. If that area looks fine then the problem is possibly coming from the draining pump. Do you hear a fainting noise from the drain pump? That means that something is inside the drain pump stuck that needs to be removed.

GE Nautilus dishwasher clogged:

Why is your GE Nautilus not draining properly? The first thing that comes to your mind is that your dishwasher is clogged. But, this is not always the case. The reasons why your GE Nautilus is not draining properly are:

  • Detergents. This model requires specific automatic detergents. So, if you will use the wrong ones, the water will end up unable to be drained.
  • Drain Valve. When the drain valve is clogged or broken down the water will be not able to drain.
  • Proper clogs. Just like most of the dishwashers, also GE Nautilus will probably get issues from a clogged air gap, pump, hose or drains in the kitchen.

GE Profile dishwasher smartdispense clogged:

When you have a GE Profile dishwasher with smartdispense you need to be careful with the detergent you are using. If you will use the wrong one, it will get clogged and you need to ”purge” the old detergent. In order to do that you need to disconnect the dispenser from the dishwasher. You can do that by separating the outer part from the inner part of the door by removing the screws that are holding it in place. Once you remove them, remove the screw that is supporting the dispenser in position. Disconnect the cables connected to it and rinse the dispenser in the sink as much as you can. Reconnect it the same way like it was by doing putting the screws back in reverse. This should have fixed the dispenser problem.

GE Profile dishwasher clogged jets:

The GE Profile dishwasher has usually three spray arms. In order to unclog them, you need to remove them first. You can easily disconnect the bottom one by twisting it slightly reverse-clockwise and pulling it up. The other two you can use a screwdriver to remove the holding screw. Once they have come off you can unclog the holes by using a thin metal cable. Before reassembling them back, make sure that you haven’t missed any clogged holes. You can check that by pouring some water through one side of the arm.

Kenmore dishwasher clogged:

If you have a Kenmore dishwasher which is clogged, you should have a look at the following places:

  • The draining pump. If the draining pump is clogged you will be facing a draining problem with your dishwasher.
  • The dishwasher’s hose. It doesn’t matter if is connected to the garbage disposal or to the pipes under the sink, this is the area where the hose is possible clogged and the dishwasher have standing water inside.

LG dishwasher clogged:

When you have a clogged LG dishwasher you need to have a look at certain places which are possible clogged. The most common places who are causing a clog are:

  • The filter.
  • The drain hose.
  • The drain pump.

LG clogged filter:

In order to avoid clogs, you need to clean often the dishwasher’s filter. The filter is located in the bottom of the dishwasher and contains as well a stainless steel filter. You can remove it by twisting it reverse-clockwise. Once you remove it you need to clean it and rinse it properly.

LG dishwasher clogged drain hose:

If you have a drain hose clogged on your LG dishwasher you need to check where the hose is connected. Just like with most dishwashers, also the LG is connected in the same way. You need to check where the hose is attached to the garbage disposal. By using a screwdriver you can loosen the ring that holds the hose in order to clean it through nicely.

LG dishwasher drain pump clogged:

If your filter and your draining hose are fine but you still have a clogging issue, an OE error will show up. That may mean that the drain pump is clogged. The drain pump is located under the filter. There is a case where some pieces of food or broken glass has found its way past the filter into the pump. You need to remove it in order to make it work again normal.

LG dishwasher clogged jets:

When the LG dishwasher has its jets clogged, the pots are going to be still dirty after being washed. This is why maybe some salt or food is gone and is blocking the holes. You can use a thin metal tool or make one with a metal hanger or a thicker needle in order to unclog the holes where the water is getting sprayed.

Maytag dishwasher clogged jets:

If a Maytag dishwasher has its jets clogged, you may need to replace them. This is because they have extremely small holes, so if a clogging issue occurs will be serious. In order to replace it, you need to remove the cap that is holding the spray arm. The spray arm will come off together with the jet’s support. You can easily unclip it and place the new one on. Make sure that the arm spins freely when you put it back in the dishwasher.

Miele dishwasher clogged:

The most common issue when you have a clogged Miele dishwasher is that the impeller is stuck. The impeller is located at the bottom of the dishwasher and you can access it once you remove the small lid. There may be something that passed through like a piece of food and is causing draining problems.

Zanussi dishwasher clogged:

So, you have a clogged Zanussi dishwasher. There may be a small issue that is located at the bottom of the dishwasher. In order to get access to the drain pump, you need to remove the spray arm and its support from the bottom of the dishwasher. Once removed, you can have a look inside for any piece of glass or plastic that is blocking the propeller in the draining pump.

Electrolux dishwasher clogged:

When your Electrolux dishwasher is clogged, you will get a special error written on the screen. Those dishwashers they have a referral on every issue. For example, if your dishwasher will have a problem with your draining valve, it will appear as ”Er12”. In this way, it will be easier for you to identify where the problem is located. Electrolux dishwasher won’t turn on:
